Look! I photographed an author! And now maybe my photo will be in one of her awesome books. Neat!

Today's posting is a personal one. Every year I travel with my friends Nirvi and Libby. Last year it was New Orleans, this year we decided on Puerto Rico. We were not disappointed!
It's a beautiful island. We had wonderful meals. We saw great sites; the old forts throughout the city, the bioluminescence off the island of Vieques (and took a tiny plane ride to get there), El Yunque National Rainforest, to name a few.
Vivian was also a New Years Day baby! Yay for 2014! I have photographed her big brother Finley many times (like here and here), and photographed their parents wedding, too.
Not only was I babysitter to their dad, CJ (I was an extremely YOUNG babysitter!), but we have been friends for many years too. I love photographing them and I love how their love for one another come through in their sessions. Every time.
Finn is a happy, adored boy and Vivian is lucky to be joining this super fun family.
This one was tough to edit down!
It's newborn month here at Cydney Scott Photography! This little peanut Edith is the baby of my dog walker, Amanda. Amanda and her mom Bonnie have been walking my Harlow since I adopted her a few months back.
Edith was born on New Year's Day and I got to her within a week and a half and got some shots. She's a doll!
Somehow I managed to not share this session I had with Matt, Julia and Hunter back before the holidays, but I did. So now, I am sharing it, because Hunter is cute and that is all. I was happy to hear from Julia again after I'd photographed them right after Hunter's birth just a short while ago, and it's always fun to see how little ones have grown.
When I first walked in, I admired Hunter's hair, which sprouted straight up from his sweet head, "We can't control it" Julia said with a bit of pride and a sparkle in her eye.
Emily's mom Pat got a hold over me over the summer asking me if I'd be free to photograph her daughter's "non-wedding" in December. She conveyed to me at the time that Emily and her fiance Jay were headed to Kenya for work and when they are back for Christmas, they would like to get married at Cambridge City Hall and follow that with a small luncheon. Something different? I'm in!
I loved everything about Emily and Jay's day (and hopefully they did too!). They wore bright colors and had an easy nature about them. Cambridge City Hall is a beautiful building and the two were real troopers in the cold air afterwards during their portrait session.
The luncheon which followed at Upstairs on the Square* suited them with it's simultaneous vibrancy, whimsy and class.
* I'd link it but it's closing for good in a few days.
The last time I saw Amy with her kids in my parents neighborhood where they live, Fiona was a baby and Aidan was a toddler not really talking much. My how time changes things! My favorite quote of the session (aside from the kids impersonating the intro to AFV "And now here's your host! Tommmmm Bergeroooooooonnnnn!") was when Fiona looked up at her mom and said "You look like a pirate princess!"
And P.S. I wanna find Fiona's white top in my size.
Love these two shots together. The first of Beth and Drew on their wedding day last year, the next with their twins, Chris and Sam this past weekend.
Sam is the Mayor of Adorableland and his twin brother Chris is the Baron von Cuteness of the area. I photographed their mom and dad back when they got hitched on a very very cold but happy day. And now, here are the boys, joining in on their parents' fun and silly antics.
I met Leeanna's family years ago when Mack was just a bitty thing (Mack's hair tamed a bit over the years). It was fun to see the kids grown a bit, explore a farm near their home and of course, get ice cream for good behavior during their session!
Easy going Jessica got a hold of me a while back and asked me to be her wedding shooter. As I'd photographed her sister Beth's wedding last winter, I knew Jessica was going to be a fun person to be around. I was not wrong. Jessica married Brendan at the Andover Country Club. Misty, chilly weather forced us inside but it didn't dampen the joy of the evening. Congratulations to your both!
Here is a collection of my favorites.

I was flattered and excited when my friend Libby asked me to shoot her engagement photos. I've known Libby for many years, since we started working together during our stints at The Palm Beach Post. An exceptional photographer herself, I was a little nervous about our session, but these two made it easy. We started our shoot on West Palm Beach where I lived for six years, taking advantage of the waning light and the massive banyans, and then we wandered over to Palm Beach (where I have never ever lived). Worth Avenue on Palm Beach was a lovely location as we wandered at the perfect time of day - magic hour! And then it was on to the beach where we were met by their dogs Doubleday and Kira. Getting those two adorable slobberers (and I'm talking about the dogs. The humans followed direction very well) to look in the right direction was a hilarious feat, and a lot of fun!
Thanks Libby, for such a great honor, an awesome session, and a super fun visit in Florida!
This year's fall mini sessions were a great success! I love to see returning clients and meeting some news ones! The tricycle I invested in for my sessions got use for the first time as well. As usual, Endicott Park doesn't disappoint.
