Photographing a Bobcat!

Last summer I was contacted by my alma mater Ohio University. They hired me to photograph a fellow Bobcat in my area who had been chosen to make a local TedTalk about her passion for running. Passion to run a half marathon in all 50 states before reaching age 50, to be exact.

Woah!

The first time I photographed Tiffany, I got up god-awful early for good light and we wandered her neighborhood in south Boston and found great spots to capture both her, and the beautiful place she run in.

A week of so later, I visited her at Salem State College and photographer her there too.

You can click here to read the story about Tiffany, an amazing woman, and here are some shots that didn’t run. One of my favorites is the one where I asked her to be all serious, standing in the sun, and she just couldn’t do it. What a smile!

Robin Williams

While I prefer to think of all the great things a person did with their life and not their actual death, recording events is part of what I do. It's also part of how I deal with emotions, sad and happy. So, today I took an early lunch break and went down to the Boston Common to photograph the outpouring of Boston love and appreciation for the brilliant Robin Williams.

CASE Award

I was excited and surprised to get a message from my friend Shannon on my FB page earlier in the week, "Sooooo...I understand BU did damn good in CASE. How about that?" It took me a while to track down the results of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education's 2013 Circle of Excellence results, and I was confused when I found them, actually. It took me a moment to realize how well I'd done, and I'm really grateful for that. Also very cool? My coworker Vernon came in second!

Here are the images I entered.

BU Update

I have nothing to say here except that I am a slacker and have fallen way behind in my BU work updates. Here's a glance at the last five months or so.

Completely, Totally Rad!

This is just a quick shot I took of my friend Jenny for the local news yesterday. We have been working very hard in preparation for this fund-raiser for the Center for Performing Arts in Wakefield. Let's hope it's a success! Wanna come?

Jenny Foss of Waltham, a Wakefield High School Alum unpacks a collection of 80s posters at the Scott house. Foss is a member of the Center For Performing Arts and is working with fellow member and WHS grad Cydney Scott on the CPA's upcoming 80s Dance fund raiser.

Chicago

A recent visit to Chicago brought all sorts of wonderful discoveries. Granted, the poeple of Chicago, who were the nicest I have ever met while traveling, have seen all these sites, but still. It was a great time!

The view from the top of the Hancock Building.

Some picketers outside a hotel.

At the Nature Conservatory.

My favorite - the Orb. Or, as the Chicagoans call it, the Bean!
