Happy Birthday!

When Noldcie got in touch for a photo shoot as a gift to herself for her birthday, I was fully on board. It was a bit chilly at the time, but she was pretty unfazed, and I had a great time wandering downtown Stoneham shooting portraits of this stunning woman (and her husband sometimes too)!

Happy Birthday, Noldcie!!

Sandi and her Family

I've been photographing Sandi, her husband Brian, and their kids for years and years and oh-my-gosh-look-how-little!, and I always enjoy seeing them. This year we met at Salem Willows Park (the site of this year's Fall Session Day)

One extra nice thing about Sandi is that she always reminds me and encourages me to shoot candid when I'm with her family. Sometimes I get so into portrait mode that I forget the strength that comes from being a fly on the wall, and the fact that I love shooting that way!

Jack's Here! {Boston Family Newborn Photography}

I had the privilege of photographing Jessica and Brendan's wedding a few years ago and was so happy for them when I heard their little on had arrived. I was ever happier when they got in touch for me to photograph him. Here are some of my favorites!

Fourth Of July

I wasn't very active with my camera over the 4th of July weekend. I can never completely turn it off, but as I age, I have learned to slow down and enjoy with my eyes and soul a bit too, rather than feeling a need to document at all times. But still, I did. Some with my big kid camera gear and some with my phone. Now that I've joined Instagram (@CydScottPhoto) I've been enjoying the inspiration I'm finding there from other photographers in addition to the challenge of shooting in square format, often with the phone, and sharing work slightly different than my everyday stuff.

Below is a combination of both! Scroll over the photos for more info.

Let's Hear It For New York!

I spent the long weekend with my Mom and friends in NYC. It was a great few days with lots of shows, people watching (and it was fleet week!), amazing food, ad even a touristy visit to the Empire State building.

For a change of pace I decided to share them in black and white. Oooo ahh oh!

Holidays! {Boston Portrait Photographer}

I've been a bit neglectful of this here blog, so here is a little slideshow of some photos I shot for clients seeking holiday pics. Not wanting to share photos which clients might want to share themselves on their holiday cards, I decided to keep them to myself til after the new year. I think it's safe now. Also for your viewing pleasure is my own silly holiday card featuring my pup Harlow!

Jocelyn {Boston Newborn Photography}

This is three-and-a-half week old Jocelyn who I met just this past weekend.  She was one happy and contented little girl, let me tell you. And pretty darn cute to boot. I had a great time photographing her sweet face (complete with dimples) in her parents' cool South Boston home.

Brr, It's COLD Out Here! {Boston Portrait Photographer}

but you wouldn't know it to look at Jenny, Greg and Andy, because they dealt with our chilly session at the Habitat Education Center and Wildlife Sanctuary in Belmont like total troopers!  This edit is a small one because I don't want to ruin the plot of their holiday cards. I especially like the first shot with Mr. Lion. I'm a fan of the inclusion of our stuffed friends.

Fall Sessions 2014 {Boston Portrait Photographer}

With the cute kid factor off the charts, beautiful weather and perfect fall leaves, this year's fall sessions were a great success! My clients were rock stars, taking on the crazy Salem traffic and even a rain delay in the middle of the day. Salem Willows Park was a new location for CSP and it served my current and new clients well, I thought!

Brayden {Boston Newborn Photographer}

Four years ago I photographed Kristin and Benjamin's wedding. I always love to hear from past clients so I was really happy when Kristin dropped me a line a few weeks ago to let me know it was time to photograph their two month old, Brayden! They opted to not find out what gender he would be, so he had the cutest owl-themed gender neutral room. So fun!

CHV of Johnson String Instrument {Boston Event Photographer}

Carriage House Violins has been a client of mine for a while and I love working with this full service string instrument shop in Newton Upper Falls. Recently, they were bought by Johnson String Instrument, and I was happy to photograph the grande re-opening of Carriage House Violins or Johnson String Instrument. The day entailed lots of performances mostly by Boston area kids' groups, which was so much fun. The kids had such pride in their accomplishment!  And the evening had grown-up performers of exceptional talent (I'm sure they're proud of their accomplishments, too). All the while visitors could nosh on yummy apps, enjoy the music floating through the building,  and explore the company's beautiful new expanded space.

Emily & Joe {Boston Wedding Photographer}

Emily and Joe are good people. Shooting their wedding was fun and an honor. Their wedding took place at Willowdale Estate  and they made it uniquely theirs in many ways, including centerpieces of ceramic lanterns handmade by Joe. I considered stealing one but wasn't sure I could really pull it off discreetly enough. CLICK HERE to see the music slideshow of images from Emily and Joe's wedding.
